So there it is.

Ups and Downs of Life

So the last month and a half has been a bit of a roller coaster. Christmas was plenty stressful, with the nieces and nephews freaking out like junkies in a poppy field. New Years in Minnesota was thankfully laid back. I had to deal with respiratory inflammation, and when that subsided, deal with ticks and jerks of my left hand and head. I started to feel like I was about 83. With some blood pressure medication (hey, I'm 100/60, it just has other uses) my ticks are minimal. But that only treats the symptom, so I still don't know what is up. I do have an appointment with a neurologist in March. For now, I'll put it as far back in my mind as possible and wait for a diagnosis.

The other down is that a hand full of people that I know just isn’t doing so well lately. It seems like something is in the air. So with my empathy in overdrive, I'm amazed that I am this calm. The upshot is that Steve moved in and he's a welcome change for Shaun and me. We've been reliving our 1992 Russia trip for the eightieth time. It seems like new stories pop up for each other, whether it is being chastised by babushkas or getting lost jogging through Riga. Other bits of our lives have found new humor, also. I guess that is keeping me sane.

Anyway, the next couple of months are looking up, or at least this weekend, as Friday is the Flogging Molly concert and Saturday is Perfect the Mohito Recipe night. Ah, drunken fun....

Holy Shit

I really wish that I had a recording attachment for my iPod. You really need to hear their conversation. Well, it's not so much a conversation so much as Fucknut #1 talking about how a boat caught on fire and he sang "Smoke on the Water" and he was with a girl named Cindy and how all the girls at the Union come with guys, to Fucknut #2.

Two Twits

I'm at the coffeshop trying to write the Kiosk scripts for tomorrow, and these two fucknuts are annoying the shit out of me. Fucknut #1 quickly became bored when Fucknut #2 decided to get some more coffee and tried to start up a conversation in a lobotomized, "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" sort of way. If you know me, that's a bad idea. He pointed to my powerbook and chatted about that, then tried to pass off some business card with the #1 or #2 site in the world. Whether he sells Amway or Peace and Enlightenment, I don't care. He then latched on to the conversation of the two women sitting to the other side of me.

The peace didn't last long since Fucknut #2 came back and Fucknut #1 decided to go to the head. Fucknut #2 evidently never had those manners film strips in elementary school, since he loudly slurped his coffee and chomped his cookie. Over and over and over and over. Just when Fucknut #2 finished his slobbering, Fucknut #1 came back. Now they're jibber-jabbing about where to go next. Gomeroke at the High Noon? Some kind of night at the Inferno? A band somewhere with no cover? Anyway, it won't be here and it won't be at my apartment. Then again, Jeremy's coming over soon and we'll probably end up where these goobers are.

At least I can flame them to my audience of 3! (or 4?)

P.S. Now Fucknut #1 is complaining about the girls at the Union who just want to walk around, drink beer, and act retarded. I'm not sure who his ultimate woman is... Dame Edna?

Down the Road with Linux

About a week ago my System76 computer arrived at my doorstep. I'm getting a bit fed up with the graft and bloat of Big Tech, so I'm...
