What The !?!
McCain is out of his mind:
Republican 2008 presidential hopeful John McCain crooned the words "Bomb Iran" to a Beach Boys' tune in joking response to a question about any possible U.S. attack over Tehran's suspected nuclear weapons program.
"That old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran ... bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb," the Vietnam War veteran warbled softly to the band's "Barbara Ann" when he was asked when the United States would send an "airmail message" to Iran.
This is sick and shows the despiration of the neocon crowd. Instead of discussing policy, they may knee-jerk remarks.
Fucking assholes.

A Story
Here's a story I wrote for a class a couple years back. We had to take a cliche and write a story with it. This gets me off the hook for a post for a while...
It was a dark and stormy night.
The music continued softly.
“Hey Shaun, what should I write?”
“How about, ‘He drug the sack of bodies down to the river’. Do something fucked up.”
I stuck my finger in my ear, gyrating it around vigorously. I had trouble starting a story, but even more finishing one.
“Nah. I was thinking of working in a series of cliches.” I though a second, “No, that wouldn’t work.” The picture on the desktop changed again, showing an Irish landscape.
“Finish the damn thing so we can go get a beer. You’ve been working all weekend.” He walked over to my chair and peered at the lone sentence. “Here, do this.” He pushed the ceiling back and jumped onto the wall. He looked down expectantly. I climbed on his desk and then onto the wall.
He pointed down towards the river, “See that man over by the bridge?”
I looked. There was a man, maybe six feet if he didn’t permanently hunch down to about five-nine. I turned to Shaun. “Yeah.”
“So, ‘he drug the bodies down to the river’. Finish it.” I looked back down and the man was dragging a bulging, burlap sack from the crest of the bank to the water.
“Ok, why is he doing that? Did he kill his roommates or some random people?”
“Uh, random people. Finish the damn thing, I’m getting wet.” The rain had intesified and the room was getting wet, along with my cranky roommate.
The sack ripped up the soaked ground, leaving a discernable path in its wake. “Ok, how about the sack is full of volunteer workers who wouldn’t leave the poor man alone to finish his crossword puzzle?”
“Or trick-or-treaters.” He jumped down off of the wall, “Who cares.”
“Either/or. “ I followed him down to the wall and replaced the ceiling. “Let’s go.”

Wishy Washy Bastards
I always wonder who these people are who change their minds about presidents, congressmen, and lately, the Iraq war. You see the shrubs approval rating fluctuate by the month. Who the fuck changed his/her mind? Are about 20-30% of the electorate (or should I say those polled) that wishy-washy?
Approval for the Iraq War was huge in this country despite plenty of evidence that it's justification was off base. Add to that the tons of literature, commentaries, etc. that said occupying Iraq would be a nightmare. Hell, even the shrubs father said he didn't topple Hussein in '91 because there was NO EXIT STRATEGY!
The following lyrics are from the Clash. Like many of their lyrics, they're as important today as they were 30 years ago:
White Man In Hammersmith Palais Lyrics
(Strummer/Jones)
Midnight to six man
For the first time from Jamaica
Dillinger and Leroy Smart
Delroy Wilson, your cool operator
Ken Boothe for UK pop reggae
With backing bands sound systems
And if they've got anything to say
There's many black ears here to listen
But it was Four Tops all night with encores from stage right
Charging from the bass knives to the treble
But onstage they ain't got no roots rock rebel
Onstage they ain't got no...roots rock rebel
Dress back jump back this is a bluebeat attack
'Cos it won't get you anywhere
Fooling with your guns
The British Army is waiting out there
An' it weighs fifteen hundred tons
White youth, black youth
Better find another solution
Why not phone up Robin Hood
And ask him for some wealth distribution
Punk rockers in the UK
They won't notice anyway
They're all too busy fighting
For a good place under the lighting
The new groups are not concerned
With what there is to be learned
They got Burton suits, ha you think it's funny
Turning rebellion into money
All over people changing their votes
Along with their overcoats
If Adolf Hitler flew in today
They'd send a limousine anyway
I'm the all night drug-prowling wolf
Who looks so sick in the sun
I'm the white man in the Palais
Just lookin' for fun
I'm only
Looking for fun

Random Tidbits
Since I have nothing substantial to say, here's some random things:
1. I don't like asparagus.
2. I'm listing to Queens of the Stone Age right now.
3. I'd much rather be outside doing something active.
4. Grindhouse bored me.
5. 300 did not bore me.
6. I have not yet read any Kurt Vonnegut. Shame on me.
7. I have five hours of work left.....
See, I have nothing substantial to say. I've followed through on my promise.

I'm Annoyed!
and impatient. And really annoyed. Damn it!
Update: It's just frustrating when something is stuck in place when you're ready to push it onwards.

Nazis! I Hate These Guys!
I can't remember all the details but it's one of my World War II Nazi dreams again. My archetypes seem to be
1. Never getting to class and the semester is ending.
2. WWII Nazi dreams.
3. Minneapolis or Madison looking very different and I'm wandering around.
There's more, but I can't remember them.
Anyway, here's what I remember about last night's dream:
1. Some kid searching through a lab full of skulls.
2. Seeing Europe bombed from the stratosphere.
3. Hitler being the most feared German ever.
4. Underling telling Hitler that all of their troops are dead.
5. Watching all of this on screen with some weird projector. I wanted to rewind #3 and watch it again and my German class from high school got pissed. I ended up rewinding it to the beginning.
So there it is, devoid of narrative.
