Play Ball!

Instead of sitting inside today, Shaun and I decided to do something a bit more active than watching TV. We headed down to State Street and it was buzzing. Funny, I still no longer enjoy that place. I used to always be down there five, ten years ago. It took a gyros and canceled plans to move on to something else.

We headed out to the dreaded west side as that was the only location of an REI and Shaun is collecting gear to go camping down in South Carolina in a couple of weeks. I wanted to pick up a soccer ball and a new baseball glove. The last I had of each was about twenty and eight years respectively. And that glove was from when I was nine or ten.

Shaun found a good deal on a tent that seems easy to set up. I think I may grab one and force myself to go camping more. I used to love doing that as a kid. I was the best in the troop at starting fires! We missed the good looking check out girl by one costumer. Pisser.

We then headed to a sporting goods store (sadly, not A-1 Sporting goods on Seven Mile Road) to pick up our gloves. After about fifteen minutes, we left with one soccer ball, three baseballs, one bat, two gloves, and some of New Jersey's finest with which to soften our gloves.

The next hour or so was spent doing the same thing I did all day long about twenty-five years ago. Beats watching "Dumb and Dumber" again!

Quiet Night

So I'm spending a quiet night at home typing away on my new laptop. I'm kind of weird in the sense... who am I kidding. I'm just kind of weird. Anyway, sometimes I get rid of things I shouldn't. Case in point, I sold my old laptop to Shari. Then I wanted one again. So I can type here on the sofa while half-watching a movie, HEY, they're making out.... oh, he is blackmailing her for sex. Anyway, I rectified the situation.

In other news today, I went running outside for the first time in many, many months. My knee and back have prevented that for some time. The good thing is that neither my knee nor my back hurt. The bad news is that I haven't run outside for many, many months. I'm out of shape. Kind of like an amoeba. Ok, bad example.

Hopefully I'll be in Milwaukee on Sunday, loitering with not much to do. That would make a good day indeed.

This One Goes to Eleven

Here's my band's bio:

A history of rock icons: Horny Toads

After practicing their craft for years in the smokey bars of Milwaukee, Horny Toads shot to the top of the rock scene in 1975 with their debut album, Warts and All. The band's latest album, Toad for the Road, juxtaposes Drissel's over-the-top vocals with crowd-pleasing riffs to evoke a fine collection fist-pumping rock. With standout tracks like "Lick It for Luck," dominating radio airwaves far and wide, Horny Toads is an essential addition to any music lover's library.

Superhero Failure

Somehow, I was in some bubble city at the airport and needed to get to another gate. Michael, whom I was visiting, drove me to another gate in a golf cart. We left the air port, drove up an escalator, and found Shari. She had all these jugs of alcohol and the jugs were made out of stained glass patterns. We need to move them, so I picked one up. Somehow I broke it and went to heal it with my super power of burning hands. The stain glass bursted and turned my hands into a bloody mess. Then I lay on the ground dying.

Also, I found a big pot hole on my dream Madison square that was filled with vomit and feces.

Bad Feeling

I have a feeling something is going to happen. Just in an a more abstract sense. Maybe my life is about to take a left turn. To where? Who knows.

Down the Road with Linux

About a week ago my System76 computer arrived at my doorstep. I'm getting a bit fed up with the graft and bloat of Big Tech, so I'm...
