The Red Coats Are Coming!

This is what I remember: there was some big dinosaur, but only a partial skeleton. It would shit and I'd have to avoid it. I guess when I slept (the dream me) I would have to fight and avoid Revolutionary War-era British soldiers. Then there was part of it in a big warehouse store like Costco and I would be whipped over to the field and slide down a hill.

Yep, that's it. I'm sure at 4:23 in the morning I would have had a better narrative or at least would have been able to fully understand what I just wrote, but I was to lazy to get out of bed.

College

Last night I went to the hockey game with my brother-in-law and two of my nephews. They wanted to go into Bucky's Locker Room to check out the merchandise. I followed William around as he poked and gaped at the variety of novelties with a "W" on it. He found two mirrors at an angle to each other, ran up to it, and started making faces in it. Two girls who were there were laughing at his antics.

Then William pulled up his shirt as he often does. I told him that was enough and we should move on. I looked at the two girls and said "Imagine what he'll be like in college."

Will then said "I'm going to go crazy in college!"

He's six.

Saint Christopher

I can't remember why and I can't remember what happened afterward, but I was walking away from some banquet room, holding a religious trinket and yelling "It's Saint Christopher! You know why I have it!?! It's because he's not real!"

Wife?

My friends are looking out for me, sort of:

Dude, I have a chick for you. My neighbor was telling me he knows a young woman (23 yrs old) who needs her green card. So, for 2 years you get to have hot monkey sex with a Latina. Want me to set up a meeting? Hell, at least you are getting laid out of this. I hear she is very energetic too.

I have no problem whatsoever of two people marrying just so one can get a green card. More power to her. But I'm not interested in using someone this way.

It was the though that counts, I guess.

As It Is

It's about time I actually wrote something so when I'm old and gray I can read this and wonder what I was thinking. So...

Rugby is starting up. Not practices, but the board is meeting more often and I'm doing the whole Monkey Bar training so I can hit the ground running when practice starts. We have a few things to work on, mainly recruitment but we have some good ideas. My rugby goal this year is NOT to break a bone.

Work is fine. I'm plenty busy and we're still open despite the beautiful economic crisis. Then again commercial construction has dropped badly yet. That will probably change.

I started up my MBA again. This semester I'm taking Corporate Finance and it's been pretty good. I chose Autodesk from the professor's list mostly because I used AutoCAD at work. I think it'll be good but now have tuition payments again.

Um, not much else is new. I've been nostalgic for the 90's, so I put together a mix. You can find it here. When I have a little more time, I'll make some artwork for it. I have it all put together in my head so it shouldn't take me long.

That's as it is.

Nice Change of Pace

Talk about a 180 from before:

Mr. Obama walked into a meeting room in the basement of the capitol at 12:17 p.m., greeted by a moderate burst of applause from the audience of dozens of House Republicans. After a short while, another round of applause could be heard in the hallway outside the closed-door session taking place in Room HC-5. The loudest applause, attendees said, came when Mr. Obama decided to let the questioning go on, even though that meant senators would have to wait for him a while longer. The questioning lasted an hour.

“We had a wonderful exchange of ideas and I continue to be optimistic about our ability to get this recovery package done to put people back to work,” Mr. Obama said, speaking to reporters as he left the House meeting.

As he moved to a similar meeting in the Senate, he added, “I recognize that we’re not going to get 100 percent of support, but I think everybody there felt good that I was willing to explain how we put the package together, how we were thinking about it, and that we continue to welcome some good ideas.”

Maybe it won't last or maybe it's not sincere, but I think and hope that it is.
